About RA.BID.ART
RA.BID.ART is the art of Brooke "Ra" Casey (she/they). Ra earned their AFA at Rowan College of South Jersey (previously Cumberland County College) in 2018. Her work began completely handmade, using printmaking techniques and second-hand fabric. A self-proclaimed treehugger, her motto is: “I don’t want my art to live much longer than me. Well, I’d like people to enjoy my art for a long time, but I hate the idea of it taking centuries to decompose in a landfill somewhere.” Who actually knows if they said all that? Anyway — nowadays, her work is an happy mix of handmade and manufactured, still utilizing sustainability and that handmade flare whenever possible. Her designs are simplistic and humorous, where cute meets punk, and stem from a deep desire to let everyone know she’s a New Jersey native. They also resonates with misunderstood monsters and the anarchic nature of cats. Their work can be found all around the tri-state area at your favorite art markets and conventions, as well as Oddball Vintage in Absecon, NJ. Join their newsletter to stay up to date on their next event!
